Hi, my name is Sammit. I have recently moved to Delhi after living in Bangalore for the last few years. Before that, I briefly worked in New York City and Paris in 2018 and 2019 respectively.
Before that, a lot of time was spent in Goa - studying 😀
This site is an attempt to diligently single-source my professional background + interests after numerous (failed) attempts to do it on LinkedIn, GitHub, and Vim.
I’ve had a somewhat unconventional path to finding my career in tech. After some rigorous Math and Electrical Engineering, I started my career as a Research Fellow working on biomedical imaging algorithms. Later, I started work as a software engineer (for semantic search) where AI was a recurring theme.
After working on a number of AI-adjacent projects over the years, I decided to pivot to a full-time AI Engineering career. A big motivation was to see how AI works in the real world, outside of a notebook. It has been extremely rewarding to see and assist with the various applications of ML/DL in industries - from Energy Production to Finance to Semiconductors.

I love working on inter-disciplinary problems - applying partial differential equations to biology? Using text analytics for heavy machinery maintenance? Using Deep Learning to brew the finest batch of beer? Count me in.

My other interests include football, reading and a ridiculous obsession with personal finance
I’m currently an AI Application Engineer at MathWorks - the makers of MATLAB and Simulink. On a typical working day, you can find me working with customers (who happen to be mostly engineers and scientists) on their AI problem statements.
On other days when I’m not working on a proof-of-concept application, I try to keep up with the latest and the greatest in Artificial Intelligence across industries.
